Privacy Policy — Wildwood Sandwich Randomizer

Wildwood does not collect your data. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
What the app stores
Everything Wildwood remembers is kept on your device:
- the sandwiches you favorite, and any ratings or notes you add to them
- what's checked in My Kitchen, and any ingredients you add to Your Shelf
- your filters, chosen theme, card design, and the name you give your machine
- counters used for achievements and House Picks
None of it is sent to us. We have no servers, and there is nothing for us to look at.
iCloud
If you are signed in to iCloud, your progress is mirrored through Apple's iCloud key-value storage so it can follow you to your other devices. That data lives in your iCloud account, under your control. We cannot see it. You can stop it at any time by turning off iCloud for Wildwood in your device settings.
Purchases
The Back Room is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. Wildwood asks Apple whether the purchase belongs to you, and never sees your name, your payment details, or your Apple Account.
Reminders
If you ask Wildwood to send a shopping list to Reminders, the app writes that list to the Reminders app on your device, using the permission you grant. It reads nothing else from Reminders, and the list is not sent anywhere else.
Speech
If you use "Say what you have" to fill in My Kitchen, speech recognition runs on your device only. Audio never leaves your phone, and nothing is recorded or stored. If a device cannot do this locally, the app says so and refuses rather than sending your voice to a server.
Sharing a sandwich
When you share a sandwich, the app creates a picture and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is up to you, and Wildwood has no part in it.
Children
Wildwood is suitable for all ages, collects nothing from anyone, and shows no advertising. Because no data is collected, none is collected from children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.

A sandwich randomizer.
Pull the lever and six rows of real ingredients flip into place (bread, protein, greens, crunch, sauce and a wildcard) to deal you a sandwich you'd never have thought to order. Lock the ingredients you like, spin again for the rest, and see what turns up.
Wildwood is an homage to Wildwood Market, a little grocery in Fountain Square, Indianapolis, whose sandwich of the day was always something unusual.
Free, with no ads and no accounts. Nothing about you ever leaves your phone.
How it works
- Spin fills every empty row. Once a sandwich is done, Spin Again makes a new one.
- Lock an ingredient by tapping it. Locked rows stay put when you spin again, so you can keep the bread you like and change everything else. Tap it again to unlock it.
- Start Over clears the board. Changed your mind? Undo brings it back.
- Favorite a sandwich with the heart to keep it in the Log, where you can rate it, add notes, name it, share it, or turn it into a shopping list.
- The ? key under the machine explains every button, any time.
Things to find
- Sandwich of the Day: the same sandwich for everyone, every day, built from one kitchen's ingredients so it always goes together.
- House Picks: 27 real sandwiches hiding in the combinations. Land one and it finally gets its name.
- Achievements, titles and themes: earned by playing, never sold.
Filters
- Diet: vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, gluten free, no pork, nut free and dairy free. Wildwood never breaks these.
- How weird it gets: Safe, Normal or Chaos.
- Cook from your kitchen: check off what you have (or say it out loud) and Wildwood will only deal sandwiches you could make tonight.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Everything that matters is free and stays free. There is one optional purchase, the Back Room, which adds five extra machine themes, extra card designs for sharing, your own ingredients on the board, and a name for your machine. Nothing you can earn by playing is ever sold.
I bought the Back Room on another device. How do I get it back?
Open Filters → The Back Room (or Filters → Themes & Extras) and tap Restore purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
Will my favorites follow me to a new phone?
Yes, if iCloud is on. Wildwood mirrors your progress through your own iCloud account. Your Shelf (your own ingredients) stays on the device where you created it.
How do I start fresh?
Filters → Reset Progress. This clears your favorites, kitchen, House Picks and counters. Your theme and anything you've bought are kept. It can't be undone.
Why did I get an ingredient I filtered out?
You shouldn't: diet filters are never broken. The weirdness setting is different. If it would leave a row with nothing at all, Wildwood loosens it rather than refusing to spin. Ingredients you add to Your Shelf also skip the diet filters, since the app can't know what's in them. If something still looks wrong, please write to us.
Why does it want access to Reminders or the microphone?
Only if you use those features. Reminders is for sending a shopping list there; the microphone is for saying what's in your fridge instead of checking boxes. Speech recognition runs entirely on your phone. Both are optional, and everything else works without them.
Does it work with Siri or widgets?
Yes. Try "Make me a sandwich with Wildwood" or "What's the sandwich of the day in Wildwood." There's also a Sandwich of the Day home-screen widget.
What do I need to run it?
An iPhone running iOS 18 or later.
