We usually reply within two business days. United Mazes of America is made by one person, so you're always talking to the person who built the app.

Getting started:

What do I need to play?

An iPad running iPadOS 16.2 or later. An Apple Pencil is preferred, but a finger works just as well — the app is designed for both.

Is there a free part?

Yes. Five states in the Empire Coast region (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland) and the opening stage of the Lewis & Clark Expedition are free to play, with no time limit and no ads.

How do I unlock everything else?

The Full Explorer Pass is a single one-time purchase that unlocks all 52 state mazes — the 50 states plus Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico — along with the complete six-stage Lewis & Clark Expedition. No subscription, no coins, no timers.

The Transcontinental Railroad adventure is a separate one-time purchase. It's a six-stage journey of its own and isn't included in the Full Explorer Pass. Future adventures will work the same way, so you only ever pay for the ones you want.

Purchases:

I bought the app on another device — how do I get it back?

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID, so it comes back on any iPad you sign into. You can also restore from the unlock screen itself.

Can my family share it?

Yes. Both purchases support Family Sharing, so everyone in your family group can play without buying again.

I reset progress and now everything's locked!

It shouldn't be. Reset All Progress clears maps, stamps, and medals, but it never removes a purchase. If something still looks locked, tap Restore Purchases in Settings, and email us if that doesn't fix it.

Playing:

Can more than one child use the same iPad?

Yes. Open Settings → Explorer Profiles to add a profile for each child. Every explorer keeps their own map, stamps, medals, and hints.

Does progress sync between iPads?

Yes, through iCloud, as long as both iPads are signed into the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled.

The animations are a lot for my child.

Turn on Calm Mode in Settings. It quiets the ambient motion throughout the app while leaving everything playable.

My child is stuck on a maze.

Every maze is solvable. Tap the lightbulb to use a hint — and hints are earned by discovering locations and answering questions about the state, not bought with real money. If a maze genuinely seems impossible, please tell us which state and we'll look at it right away.

Something looks wrong on a maze.

Email us the state's name and, if you can, a screenshot. Maze corrections go out in free updates.

Privacy and safety:

United Mazes of America was built for children, and it behaves like it:

- No ads, ever

- No tracking, no analytics, no data collection

- No accounts and no sign-in — the name your child enters stays on the device

- No chat and no messaging

- No links out to the web or to social media anywhere in the app

The only information that leaves the iPad is your child's own game progress, synced privately through your iCloud account so it's there on their other devices.

Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Still stuck?

Email contact@unitedmazesofamerica.com and tell us what happened, which state or adventure you were in, and what kind of iPad you're using. That's usually enough for us to sort it out quickly.
